  1. Cascia Francesca says:

My name is Francesca and I’m 78 years old. I had been suffering from back and knee pain for a few years. Before that, I could do everything, from gardening to dancing. Unfortunately, these pains no longer allowed me to even walk correctly.
Fortunately, thanks to some the advice of some friends, I met Christian. From the first consultation I felt sure about being operated on and had the right attitude about getting back to living as before. After a few sessions of physiotherapy and oxygen-ozone therapy, I had osteo-ligamentous decompression surgery for a L3-L4 anterolisthesis at the Villa Berica Clinic. The hospital stay lasted 3 nights, I won’t dwell on Dr. Capuano’s professionalism, which other patients have rightly emphasized before me, but, I will praise the clinic’s respect of all the Covid regulations regarding safety during this complex period of the pandemic. Also, Christian’s compassion and availability were exceptional during my hospitalization.
As a mother, I have no doubts about Christian being an highly professional, but above all he’s a wonderful person who transmits serenity to patients, especially to patients like me, who should have undergone this surgery much sooner.
In conclusion, the next morning I was already standing and Christian sent a Whatsapp photo of me to my children to demonstrate my progress. I keep getting better and better, and today, just over a month after the surgery, I am on the beach, doing my exercises, walking and enjoying my holidays.
What can I tell you… I certainly do not wish for anyone to suffer and need back surgery, but, if you do, Doctor Capuano is the right person for you.

  2. Beatrice Intini says:

I was operated on by Dr. Christian Capuano on 22.06.21 at the Villa Berica Clinic in Vicenza for spondyloarthrosis (C5-C6) that was complicated by foraminal stenosis. The operation had a double approach: anterior, with the interposition of an interbody fusion cage using the microsurgical technique, and posterior, with the interposition of intra-articular devices using the percutaneous technique.
Before undergoing surgery, Dr. Capuano prescribed oxygen-ozone therapy, which gave me some limited relief. I often told Dr. Capuano that it is was if I had a dagger under my left shoulder blade, and Dr. Capuano asked if it was still true just two minutes before I was anesthetized.
When in March of 2021, Dr. Capuano proposed that I have surgery, he showed me the images of a similar surgery he had just done; I was a little scared, but he looked at those images as if he was admiring a beautiful painting, showing his love of his work and his awareness of his ability to help relieve sometimes unbearable pain.
Now, I no longer feel the dagger under the shoulder blade… I am still undergoing rehabilitation and Dr. Capuano is still in contact with my physiotherapist Giulia about appropriate exercises (I will soon begin physiotherapy in the pool).
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christian Capuano for never making me feel like a number, for his empathy, for always being clear in his explanations and for improving my quality of life.
Thanks also to the entire team of the Villa Berica operating theater in Vicenza for their humanity and pre-surgery reassurance. A big thanks to the staff of the orthopedics department, who cared for me with warmth and dedication in the delicate post-surgery phase in which I was completely immobilized. Thanks also to the Marinella, who was always very kind.

  3. Federica Zizzo says:

The first time I met Dr. Christian Capuano I realised how lucky I was to have entrusted my care to such a serious professional. I appreciated his excellent communication skills, including his explanation of my back problems. I have struggled to live with these back problems over the last few years, so, I decided have Dr. Capuano perform lumbar-sacral arthrodesis surgery with the interposition of a titanium interbody fusion cage.
I was operated on 12 July 2021 at the excellent Villa Berica Clinic in Vicenza. The right amount of pre-operative fear and post-operative tension were brilliantly overcome thanks to the constant and reassuring presence of Dr. Christian Capuano. I still remember with emotion the moment when, less than 24 hours after surgery, he stretched out his arms to help me get out of bed and onto my feet for the first time. I remember his ability to convey confidence, serenity and respect through his gaze, as well as his excellent preparation and professionalism.
The serious professionalism of physiotherapist Riccardo Bocca, his collaborator, will accompany me on my path of rehabilitation recovery. Thanks again to Dr. Capuano and to the team of the spine health studio in Como.
    Warmly, Federica Zizzo

  4. Giuseppe says:

My name is Giuseppe and I am 37 years old. I have been suffering from sciatica and back problems for 10 years.
After yet another unbearable back problem, my GP recommended Dr. Capuano to me.
At the end of 2020 I started having oxygen-ozone therapy at Dr. Capuano’s office. I had some benefit, but unfortunately the pain in my leg continued returning, so Dr. Capuano put me on the waiting list for surgery.
I had been skeptical about the operation before, but after meeting Dr. Capuano I felt reassured and sure I was “in good hands”. He performed a discectomy (L5-S1) and arthrodesis for a slipped disc and stenosis of the vertebral canal on 05/07/2021 at City of Bra Clinic. I was cared for impeccably and the day following my surgery I was back on my feet (without using a bust or other support).
I am sure my convalescence will not be short, but after only ten days I see significant improvements.
A special thanks to Dr. Capuano and his team (including Dr. Carnini, who collaborates with him) because in addition to being extremely professional they show how much they care about the patient, never making them feel like just a number, which is common in many clinics and hospitals.

  5. Valentina Vergani says:

    Let’s talk about opposites…

Do you know Marvel’s Dr. Strange? If not, I’ll describe him to you…
Granted, he is an exceptional neurosurgeon, he solves the most extreme cases easily, but he only wants those cases that are interesting to him, to challenge own ego. He rejects many people who need his help. Later, life obliges him to go on a journey to develop the spiritual greatness he lacks.

Dr. Christian Capuano has only the first characteristic in common with Dr. Strange: he has already gone on his journey, or better, he carries out his profession in such a way as to substantially help the largest number of people possible.
Each patient is welcomed into his medical office with care and respect for their condition. He always finds, along with insightful wisdom and sincere clarity, a gesture of comfort that is a balm for those who often feel incapacitated, unproductive, insignificant, unsure – in a word – alone, with their problem,
People of all kinds, whether they are simple or complicated, elderly or young, workers or retirees, even people who are not wealthy, find access to the best treatment possibilities and careful consideration in the doctor’s office. All these people have lots of questions, like me, but they are always respected and listened to. Even when the doctor is tired from the hours spent between complex operations and long journeys.
I always felt welcomed by the staff of the medical office, by each person in their own way. I always felt important, cared for and in good hands. I tried to respond in kind, with a willingness to change my firm but sometimes unhelpful attitudes: this is difficult, but it helps a lot in one’s recovery, and I had no intention of losing what I immediately perceived as my best chance to finally get better.
I had several acute painful disorders (mainly sacro-ileitis) that was linked to disc disease (at level L5-S1), which had already been treated in many ways, all in the wrong way, or in any case they were ineffective. After receiving painless oxygen-ozone treatment both locally and systemically, and having benefited in many ways (including getting rid of a tormenting dermatitis probably a result of my prolonged discomfort), I was operated on 06/14, for an interspinous herniectomy and arthrodesis at the Villa Berica Clinic in Vicenza. While in the clinic I found the same attentive and welcoming atmosphere as in the medical studio.
Now I’m on vacation, recovering, but I’m returning to my life, and I’m much better in body and in spirit.
    THANK-YOU all!

    Valentina Vergani

    P.S.
I also want to add this:
During the week of my hospitalization at Villa Berica, Dr. Christian was present from the evening before my operation to the morning of my discharge. Every day he came by several times to check on and comfort me (not that I was afflicted, but seeing him was like having a family member nearby). Although they must have been very busy days for him, I always felt pampered and secure receiving his visits!

  6. Caterina says:

Doctor Capuano operated on me on June 15th for a L1-L2 retrolisthesis. I entrusted myself to him because he is an excellent surgeon and I am happy with my choice. The next day he had me walk in the corridor and besides the pain of the surgical wound, I felt good and had no motor problems. He is a great surgeon and has an uncommon respect for his patients. I have been working in hospitals for 40 years and I have known many doctors, unfortunately few look beyond one’s pathology; I felt cared for as a person and this is priceless. Now I am better and the pains deriving from the vertebral compression have disappeared. In a few more weeks I will finally regain my strength. Thank you.

  7. Luca Donnarumma says:

I had the pleasure of having a visit with the doctor and after a long discussion about my medical history and my present condition, he said he could solve the problems which five different medical structures have been afraid to solve.
My past choices have been pharmacological therapies and a series of consultations that would have been appropriate after one’s surgery – not the kind of visits you have before an operation.
I am not a doctor, but pain does not know if you have a degree or not – you have it and that’s that.
I am confident and optimistic… sure of the doctor’s professionalism and that soon I will be thanking him. I want to thank him already for having put an end to my three-year-long ordeal, at least psychologically, by reassuring me.
I came north from Naples with new determination and confidence, and am expecting a happy ending. I thank the doctor in advance for having listened to me and for being willing to treat me. I am looking forward to my operation, to the end of suffering and to being able to start living again.

  8. Roberto Delfinetti says:

Dr. Capuano’s professionalism is almost indescribable.
My husband was operated on May 24 for a L3-L4 spinal canal stenosis at the Villa Berica Clinic in Vicenza. At the first medical visit the doctor was very clear in explaining the problem and was very willing to discuss and clarify any of our doubts. He showed so much humanity towards my husband, reassuring him and alleviating his fears.
The entire process that led up to the operation was smooth, and this was combined with an extraordinary and unusual sensitivity. The surgery, performed with the utmost competence and precision, was completely successful. Doctor Capuano’s dedication to his patients is confirmed by his interest in all phases of pre- and post-operative care and by leaving nothing to chance. My husband never once felt neglected. Even the smallest problems were alleviated by the optimism and confidence that the doctor inspired.
Out esteem and gratitude towards Dr. Capuano is immense; he is a complete professional and a doctor who loves his patients.
A heartfelt thanks also goes to all the staff of the Villa Berica Clinic, especially to the head nurse, Luisa; during three days of hospitalization they were all extremely helpful and professional, treating patients with great kindness and cordiality. Such generosity of spirit is difficult to find nowadays.
Also, thank-you to Marinella, Dr. Capuano’s secretary.
    Renewing our gratitude and esteem,
    Nadia and Roberto Delfinetti

  9. Maria says:

After years of her suffering from spinal stenosis, I took my 80-year-old mother to Dr. Capuano hoping he could do something to ease her pain. Immediately, he explained the situation very simply and clearly, recommending an operation in case the initial treatments did not work. Although we were a little worried about the idea of surgery, we felt we could trust him.
In the end, my mother had decompression and inter-spinous lumbar arthrodesis surgery, performed by microsurgical technique with spinal anesthesia.
The next day, as promised by the doctor, my mother got up and walked without any help – and without pain! During her hospitalization, she was pampered and treated like a family member, not like a patient!
We are grateful to Dr. Capuano for his humanity and helpfulness. Thank you again!
However, I want to remind the orthopedists and physiatrists who do little more than prescribe a series of useless therapies that they should to learn how to be more humble, and, if they are not able to cure people, they should entrust them to professionals who carry out their profession with love and dedication!
Thanks again for everything doctor, I was treated like a mother!

  10. Simona Doneda says:

Hi Christian, saying thank-you is an understatement… besides being a fantastic doctor, you are a person with a big, big heart!! You told me you would operate on me as if I were your sister, and I felt your devotion… A big hug to you!
    Simona

  11. Doriana says:

    Hello Dr. Christian Capuano
I want to thank you from my the bottom of my heart for your professionalism, presence, delicacy and for the constant support you gave me throughout my surgery and hospitalization. Thanks also for the excellent work you did.
I also want to thank Marinella, Dr. Christian’s secretary.
And finally, I would like to thank all the staff of the Villa Berica Clinic; they were very kind and always helpful.

  12. Maria Gentile says:

When significant, and almost intolerable physical pain occurs, psychological and emotional malaise arises at the same time and this often leads to depression and discouragement. In Dr. Capuano, who operated on me for a lumbosacral hernia, and with whom I remain in treatment to solve similar problems, I found a doctor who solves the problems of the body and spirit, before, during and after the surgery with a sense of dedication that every good doctor should have – but that I have never found in any other doctor.
For this reason, I will always be grateful Dr. Capuano for instilling confidence in me before my surgery and about what I will have to face in the future. I am grateful for his professionalism, humanity and humility!

  13. Bruno says:

Words will never succeed in rendering the amount of gratitude I have for you, Dr. Christian Capuano. You operated on me 19 April, 2021. Thank you very much for your professional demeanor, constant presence, sensitivity, and constant support, all of which you gave me throughout the whole process.
Having a doctor like you helps me imagine a peaceful future.
Doctor, I extend my deepest gratitude to you, and I will never forget everything you did for me. A doctor who becomes a friend and trusted supporter is the best thing I can imagine.
I was lucky enough to choose you as my doctor and I am grateful for every single moment you have dedicated to me.
Thank you with all my heart.
I feel immense gratitude and esteem for you.
I’ll recommend you to anyone needing the best doctor in the whole world!!

  14. Giacomelli Concetta says:

Such a great doctor! A few years ago, Dr. Capuano operated on my dad, who was then 78 years old, and who now walks like a twenty-year-old. This time, he operated on me, performing lumbosacral arthrodesis and neuronal decompression.
I want to thank the doctor for his care and attention leading right up to the surgery; he follows his patients with love, you can see that he loves his job and loves to help his patients.
Thanks to the surgery, I move much better and can now do everyday tasks, which had become impossible due to my back problems.
I also want to thank the doctor’s secretary, Marinella. She was always kind and was very helpful in scheduling my various appointments; she also kept in touch with me right before, and after my surgery.
Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Dr. Cristian Capuano.

  15. Chicca says:

    A great professional
    A great doctor
    A great man
He was always able to combine his professional excellence with his great humanity and sensitivity in the face of my difficulties and my “physical” pain.
He literally put me back on my feet!!!
Disabling pain had been dragging me down for over a year… and thanks to him, in just a short time and after a very serious operation, I feel reborn!
    Well… what can I say??
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING… for all the attention paid to me by both the Dr. and his fantastic staff!
With all my heart, I send you infinite THANKS!!
