The acquisition of bipedalism has enabled the human species an intellectual, technological and social development.
However, the transition to the standing position was possible only through morphological adaptations, particularly in the lower limbs, the pelvis and the spine. The pelvis has changed from an elongated shape (called “in tension”, typical of quadrupeds), to a more squat morphology (called “in pressure”, characteristic of bipedalism).
